We sold a house and did a new construction with Cara. She was absolutely amazing! When she came to see our house we were selling I didn’t care that it was a mess (packing and living with a toddler) and she didn’t care either. She was flexible and did whatever she could to help! While we were looking at the new build in progress I accidentally locked my keys in the car. I needed to buy and move quickly, so I was willing to make an offer on almost anything. Cara would challenge me though, and point out that the house wasn't the right one for me with a list of reasons. Every single time, she was right. We bought our first home in St. Louis through Cara and couldn’t be more grateful. Just six months ago, we were playing with the idea of relocating to St Louis and were referred to Cara by a friend to navigate the home buying process. Thank goodness we had Cara, who was by far the most genuine and insightful realtor we have worked with!! Between a competitive housing market and us not knowing much about St. Louis (and us being out-of-state), Cara provided the much needed support and guidance to help us find a home in a location that suited our needs and preferences, such as justified value, proximity to a park, centrally located, and LGBTQ friendly. She managed all viewings and sent us videos of the house, talked us through as much details as she could. In many cases, we felt the impulse to go beyond our comfort level with offer price or contingency waivers, and thankfully Cara was patient and skillful in listening and talking through the scenarios to keep us grounded. Throughout the whole process, it was clear that Cara wanted to help us find the right home, not just any home. We never felt that Cara was just trying to close a deal, but instead she was a realtor we could trust like a friend. In the end, we found a house that was priced well and appraised strong, while having great potential for a bit of TLC. Since the house needed some repairs, we were hesitant to take on the projects while living so far away, but Cara was extremely supportive and well connected. She referred and offered to meet with a few contractors for bids, so we were able to negotiate for a fair adjustment with the seller. Without Cara’s help we wouldn’t have found and bought our lovely new home. We successfully completed some upgrades in the last 2 months and all came in within budget. If you want a Realtor who is going to make the home buying process as streamlined as possible, hire her and don’t look back. My husband and I had been in the market for at least a year, though we weren’t exactly “ready to buy” until the last few months. Some Realtors might be a bit pushy, trying to get you to tour before you’re ready or showing you homes outside your price range or stated wants/needs, but not Cara. She was patient with us, and, when we were ready to buy, she made the entire process as seamless as possible. First, she set us up with a handy portal that let us input features that we were looking for and sent us new listings daily. She didn’t just provide us the tool, though, she gave us advice on how to best narrow or broaden our search. When we found a home that had potential, whatever the time, she would respond to our requests for a tour and had us scheduled. On tours, she finds positives and red flags we didn’t even know to look for. When it eventually came time to make an offer, she gave fantastic advice on how to proceed (including tips on how to write the letter to the sellers that won us our first home) and handled the entire process from there. Once our offer was accepted, she kept us organized, set us up with a handy timeline, made sure we got inspections scheduled on time, and generally made the process as painless as possible. Finally, it’s worth saying that all of our serious searching, touring, and post-offer steps took place during the COVID-19 lockdown. Even though this threw a wrench into the system, Cara didn’t miss a beat. She’s adaptable, hard-working, responsive.
